Foal Insurance
An insurance policy has been developed especially for you, as a relation of the Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, that is in line with your purchase during the auction.
What is insured?
This insurance pays out a one-off amount when there is a covered event, as summarized below. The coverage starts on the photo-video day and has a term of up to five months after childbirth and no later than December 1 of the year in which the auction took place. The cover is in effect until the moment of delivery to the buyer or the carrier.
Insured amount
- The foal is insured for a value of € 10,000 until the auction.
- After the auction, the foal is insured against hammer blow up to a maximum of € 75,000.
What is covered under this cover?
This insurance provides cover for damage caused by:
- Death or emergency slaughter as a direct result of an acute illness or accident.
- Permanent disability as a direct result of an accident. An accident is understood to mean a sudden external force acting directly on the horse's body, which directly causes an external physical injury to be determined medically, in which injuries are visible and for which adequate veterinary assistance is immediately necessary.
- Transport in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, abroad only on request.
Walt is outside this cover?
- Transport outside the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, this is only possible on request.
- Permanent disability as a direct result of illness and/or lameness.
Exceptions to Acceptance or Premium
The foals selected by the auction are accepted on the basis of a health certificate from the veterinarian. If a foal is bought back during the auction, the cover will lapse immediately and the premium will be adjusted.
If a foal is not delivered for whatever reason, the premium will still be due.
