Prinsjesdag opens up with offspring Baloubet du Rouet

Baloubet du Rouet and the Prinsjesdag have a lot in common: they both stand for performance and quality. In addition, many Baloubet foals were sold on the third Tuesday. Last Sunday, the five-star Grand Prix of Falsterbo was won by Bonne Chance CW (photo), daughter of Baloubet du Rouet, who was auctioned as a foal by Prinsjesdag.

The only nine-year-old superstar of Janike Sprunger thus earned 66,000 euros, after she also showed a top round in the Nations Cup. The breeding product of HJF van Loon from Hooge Mierde, who had Bonne Chance CW (ds. Cambridge) auctioned in 2006, also won the 1.50m Grand Prix of CSI3* Busto Arsizio and Vejer de la Frontera earlier this year.

No auction on Prinsjesdag passes without the offspring of Baloubet du Rouet being part of the collection. Also this year with four direct children and six grandchildren through his sons Balou du Rouet (3x) and Chaman (2x) and as mother's father (1x).

pearls
One of the many gems is the colt of Baloubet du Rouet x Opium, whose grandam is the 1.60m Grand Prix show jumper Sterrehof's Ushi (by Vigo d'Arsouilles) ridden by Julia Kayser. And what about a Baloubet du Rouet out of the well-known Krista (by Polydor), the dam of the winner of the World Cup final Taloubet K with Christian Ahlmann?

The popular progenitor Balou du Rouet is auctioning a daughter of BMC Octavia (by Jus de Pomme), former winner of the Grand Prix of CSI Twente with Jurgen Stenfert. An Edinburgh stallion from a daughter of Balou du Rouet is also being auctioned, the stallion that was also auctioned at Prinsjesdag at the time.

From the Baloubet son Chaman, very successful under Ludger Beerbaum, there is a daughter for sale out of the full sister of the Olympic show jumping stallion Tinka's Boy (by Zuidpool) ridden by Markus Fuchs. We see this mare line again more often in the collection, because a Levisto Z filly has been selected out of the 1.50m jumping mare Vantiels Esprit (by Baloubet du Rouet), a half-sister of Tinka's Boy and also mother of rising star Carrera VDL .

For Pleasure
Baloubet du Rouet took part in the Olympic Games twice with Rodrigo Pessoa and came home with an individual gold medal (2004) and team bronze (2000). A stallion who is not inferior to him in terms of sport and inheritance is For Pleasure, the winner of team gold at the Olympic Games in 1996 and 2000. And Prinsjesdag has also selected two foals from him: a For Pleasure son comes out of Gracelottie B (s. Nabab de Reve), a niece of Olympic show jumper Vindicat W (by Guidam), who won team gold in 2004 with the British team.

Genetically also very interesting is the offspring of Glock's London (2x and dam's sire 1x) and Berlin (2x), two top stallions who won the necessary medals with Gerco Schröder. London's regular teammate VDL Groep Verdi TN is represented in the auction by a son of Kicky Queen (Voltaire), the dam of the 1.60m Grand Prix showjumping stallion Tyson ridden by Leon Thijssen and half sister of the Grand Prix showjumper Nirvana ridden by Annet Willems. One of the many mare lines that shines with performance!

Finally, the name of Rolf-Göran Bengtsson's Casall ASK should not be missing from the list of top performing sires. The stallion who performs at the highest international level is represented by a stallion and a filly, both from very interesting dam lines.

Five-star victory for Arc de Triomphe

SANKT GALLEN – Frank Schuttert and Arc de Triomphe (Triomphe de Muze x Calvados) recorded their first five star victory at CSIO Sankt Gallen yesterday. In yesterday's 1.45 m class, which was held over two phases, Schuttert triumphed and the 2005 op Foal Auction Prinsjesdag auctioned Arc de Triomphe.

Arc de Triomphe has been one of the showpieces of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag for years. He twice won the VION Cup – the Dutch championship for young show jumpers – and many international victories and top prizes followed. With the victory in the 1.45 m in Sankt Gallen, the Arc de Triomphe, fully trained by Frank Schuttert himself, has also proven to be competitive at a five-star level (!). Arc de Triomphe is a son of Triomphe de Muze and the international top mare Una Bella S (Calvados x Libero H). The Van Straaten family from Den Ham bred the successful gelding, which came into the hands of Frank Schuttert in 2005.

For top talent Bonne Chance CW (Baloubet du Rouet x Cambridge) and Janika Sprunger it was a clear first phase and a slight error in the second phase.

With the victory in the 1.45 m at Sankt Gallen Frank Schuttert and Arc de Triomphe proved to be competitive at even the highest level: CSIO5*. Family Van Straaten bred Arc de Triomphe out of the international show jumping mare Una Bella S (Calvados x Libero H).

Prinsjesdag stallions Highlander and Hervé d'Ive VDL approved by KWPN

ERMELO – Two colts auctioned at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag 2012 have already grown into KWPN-approved stallions. The Numero Uno son Highlander (ds. Vingino) and the Vigo d'Arsouilles son Hervé d'Ive VDL (ds. Indoctro) both obtained their breeding license from the KWPN. With 81.5 points, Highlander is one of the highlights of his year and Hervé d'Ive VDL was also rewarded with several 8s.

Monique Lamers-Couwenberg from Heide bred Highlander out of the Vingino daughter Ditty Dante C. The Prinsjesdag selection committee was already charmed by the blood-bred Highlander, who, in addition to top stallions in his pedigree, also comes from a top dam line. Great-granddam Citty (by Ramiro) is the foundation of countless international show jumpers. Loyal Prinsjesdag buyers Jos Althuyzen and Egbert Schep were also charmed by the flexible gray and bought it.
With an 8.5 for canter and an 8.5 for scope, Highlander stood out above his contemporaries. In addition, he scored at least an 8 for all jumping components and his total came to 81.5.

Hervé d'Ive VDL (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Indoctro) was born with Isabelle Van Eeckhout in Outer-Ninove, Belgium. In addition to the Prinsjesdag selection committee, the Van de Lageweg family of VDL Stud was also impressed by the strongly built chestnut. VDL Stud therefore bought the Vigo d'Arsouilles son at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.
Hervé d'Ive's grandmother Almfee (Almé x Gotthard) jumped at 1.45 m level herself and is the foundation of a large number of international show jumpers. A similar career lies ahead for Hervé d'Ive as well. The fox scored an 8 for his beautiful technique and an 8 for his generous scope. It is not without reason that his talent as a jumping horse was rewarded with an 8 and his total score came to 76 points.

The prestigious KWPN studbook has approved the Prinsjesdag sold stallion Hervé d'Ive VDL (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Indoctro) and Highlander (Numero Uno x Vingino). With a top-score of 81.5 points and an 8.5 for scope and canter Highlander was one of the favourites. This son of Numero Uno was bred by Monique Lamers-Couwenberg and bought at Prinsjesdag 2012 by Egbert Schep and Jos Althuyzen. At the same auction in 2012 VDL Stud bought the Vigo d'Arsouilles-son Hervé d'Ive VDL from the famous Belgian breeder Isabelle Van Eeckhout. Hervé d'Ive VDL was rewarded with an 8 for jumping technique, scope and talent as a show jumper.
