Mowgli VOD son outlier with € 55,000 during well-attended Prinsjesdag auction

“The Power of Performance” is the motto of Prinsjesdag and this was not denied during the auction on Tuesday evening, September 20. Chairman Arjan van der Waaij: “The auction got off to a slow start, but after the break the international buyers were able to appreciate the fantastic foals well. The auction was well attended by an international buyers audience, both physically and online. A hybrid auction remains an attractive way to market foals.”

Canadians were in the market for the interestingly bred Sir Mowgli SVN Van 't Studutch (Mowgli VOD x Diamond Hit) bred by Stal Studutch and Stal Van Nobelen. They had no less than € 55,000 left for the full brother of the GP dressage horse Hot Hit, who recently won the GP in Saumur.

The second money was paid for Vainqueur's son, Supérieur. His grandmother Fantasie is at the origin of several sport horses. He found a new owner for € 44,000 in a well-known international stallion breeder.

The most expensive jumping foal was Balou's Girl W (Balou du Reventon x Kashmir van 't Schuttershof) out of the famous Roosakker mare line. She found a new owner for € 38,000.

The half-brother of the KWPN approved Defender Z, Shamrock VDS (Grandorado x Padinus) raised € 26,000.

The average of the dressage foals was €13,756. The average for the jumping foals was €13,128.

The countdown has begun… Tuesday only the very best at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag

Two world champions and one vice-world champion have delivered several foals for the exclusive collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag for next Tuesday, September 20th. Ermelo traditionally hosts the elite foal auction on the 3rd Tuesday of September; now the 30th edition of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, founded in 1992.

The selection committees have put together an impressive collection in recent months. Jumping and dressage foals with great models, excellent movements and lots of charisma. And above all, foals with the best genetics; sport damlines, proven genes and young élan. In addition, several foals are closely related to horses that have recently achieved world-class performances.

Glamourdale foals

Take for example Charlotte Fry's world champion Glamourdale; this spectacular black stallion turned the dressage world upside down in Herning by winning two gold medals and causing goose bumps for many dressage enthusiasts. This Tuesday, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag will offer two excellent foals by Glamourdale.

First, Suntresse Texel - a daughter of Glamourdale out of a dam by Glock's Toto Jr x Jazz. This striking filly comes from the well-known breeding farm of Stoeterij van der Linde from De Cocksdorp, Texel. In addition, the colt Star On Firedale MCB; this is a son of the phenomenal Glamourdale paired with Wynton and Ferro. Furthermore, Star On Firedale MCB was bred from the famous lineage of Jazz.

Hermes represented

Another medallist from Herning is also represented in the dressage collection: Dinja van Liere's two-time bronze medallist Hermes. His daughter Si Diva Corieta Texel was also bred out of the famous Texel breeding and dances through the arena like royalty. She is remarkably light-footed, charming and has beautiful balance.

Another World Champion...

The second world champion who produced offspring in the dressage collection does not come from the championships in Herning, but from Ermelo. For the second year in a row, the Negro son Kjento won the world title for young dressage horses. Foal Auction Prinsjesdag offers no less than three foals by Kjento: colt Syracuse B (dam’s sire Grand Galaxy Win), colt Stromae T (dam’s sire Charmeur) and filly Sweet Murona (dam’s sire Gock's Toto Jr).

Another World Championships top scorer with Prinsjesdag foals is Las Vegas. This spectacular former Pavo Cup winner fell just short of the podium at the World Championships, but impressed again. His foals Salucy (mv. Metall) and Sylvester de la Vie (mv. Eye Catcher) will be auctioned on Tuesday.

World Cup Silver in Herning

As every year, the jumping collection is packed with performance from proven sport stallions and the world's best damlines. One striking example is the colt by Quel Homme de Hus. Ridden by Jérôme Guery, the Quidam de Revel son Quel Homme de Hus jumped convincingly to individual silver at the World Championships in Herning. However, offspring of Quel Homme de Hus are scarce, but with the impressive colt Quintodecimo SK Z (mv. Chacco Blue), Foal Auction Prinsjesdag managed to capture a son of Quel Homme. Quintodecimo SK Z is bred out of the sister of Hong Kong Grand Prix winner Chablis.

GCT Rome winner Mumbai

Recent successes also came from the grey stallion Mumbai. Ridden by Christian Kukuk, the striking Diamant de Semilly son recently won the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Rome. The Gin Flip de Muze colt William Lawson de W&S was bred out of Mumbai's three-quarter sister; in fact, dam Snolle Bolleke JW van de Moerhoeve is a daughter of Diamant de Semilly out of Mumbai's half-sister and Lillie Keenan's full sister Opium JW van de Moerhoeve.

For his part, Eldorado van de Zeshoek TN recently signed on to sire the winner of perhaps the toughest Grand Prix of 2022; the Rolex Grand Slam Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows, Calgary. His daughter Killer Queen VDM jumped with Daniel Deusser to the top prize of 1 million Canadian dollars - over 750,000 euros. Eldorado van de Zeshoek TN also has two offspring in the collection, Sweet Caroline Reuvekamps (mv. For Pleasure) and Sweet Sue Reuvekamps (mv. Chellano Z). The latter is the full sister of reigning Dutch champion Highway TN ridden by Willem Greve.

Collection Foal Auction Prinsjesdag: World Championship medalists fully represented

For the elite auction on Tuesday 20 September, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has once again put together a spectacular collection. Almost eighty foals in the dressage and jumping direction will be auctioned by auctioneer Koen Olaerts on the third Tuesday of September in Ermelo. The medalists of the past world championships in Herning are fully represented in both breeding directions.

Perhaps the most striking horse of the world championships in Herning was the impressive dressage stallion Glamourdale. Under the British Charlotte Fry, Glamourdale made the hearts of horse lovers beat faster and won two gold medals and a silver team medal in Herning. Lauw van Vliet and Cas van der Oord, dressage selection committee, registered two descendants of Glamourdale for the auction collection on Tuesday 20 September. The filly Suntresse Texel is a Glamourdale daughter from the famous Texel breeding farm and the colt Star On Firedale MCB is a Glamourdale son from the Jazz family.

Glamourdale & Hermes

Glamourdale is not the only top dressage champion from Herning with representatives in the dressage collection; the selection committee also added a descendant of Hermes to the collection. Under Dinja van Liere, Hermes was important in Herning for the Olympic qualification of the Dutch team and he won a well-deserved bronze medal in both the Grand Prix Special and the Freestyle. Special Diva Texel is a filly by Hermes and a striking foal in the collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

Another world champion who is amply represented is Kjento – last year the convincing world champion for six-year-old dressage horses in Verden. This Negro son seems to have a similar career in prospect as Glamourdale and has already sired three Prinsjesdag foals: Stromae T (ds. Charmeur), Sweet Murona (ds. Glock's Toto Jr) and Syracuse B (ds. .Grand Galaxy Win).

Daughter of Quel Homme de Hus

Fred van Straaten, Willem van Hoof and new committee member Bob Janssens put together a very high-quality show jumping collection. An exclusive foal, for example, is Quintodecimo SK Z. This filly from a performance dam line is a daughter of Quel Homme de Hus. Ridden by Jérôme Guery, the spectacular Quidam de Revel son Quel Homme de Hus won the silver medal in Herning, after not making a single jumping error in five rounds and thus only having to tolerate King Edward. Quel Homme de Hus does not have many offspring, which is why the filly Quintodecimo SK Z is a unique opportunity; especially since she is bred out of a daughter of Chacco Blue and a sister of Grand Prix winner Chablis.

Foals for sport and breeding

Other notable fillies include Shamrock VDS – a daughter of the Nations Cup star Grandorado TN out of the same dam as Defender Z, or Balou's Girl W – a daughter of Balou du Reventon out of a daughter of Electra van 't Roosakker. Also special is Sweet Sue Reuvekamps – the full sister of reigning Dutch champion Highway TN; or Wonder VD, an Emerald daughter from the Van 't Roosakker family. Also colts with potential for sport and breeding are part of the show jumping collection; think, for example, of Uricas van 't Gebergte Z from the direct line of Emerald, William Lawson de W&S – closely related to Mumbai and Opium JW van de Moerhoeve, or El Niño GZ – an Emerald son out of the sister of five-star winner Glamor Girl.

Sports and breeding; a nice combination

Successful Prinsjesdag auction during CSI Ommen

A fresh, beautiful summer evening during CSI Ommen was the setting for a successful auction of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. Eight foals and four sport horses, selected by Hendrik Jan Schuttert, were auctioned by auctioneer Koen Olaerts. With a well-filled VIP grandstand and a lot of public interest, both the foals and the horses went over the board like hot cakes.

The most expensive foal was the interestingly bred Samoa W (Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z x Denzel van 't Meulenhof), for € 32,000 he found a new owner in Jan Bakker from Zwolle. The big, strong colt comes from a full sister of the great talent of Jos Verlooy; Nixon van't Meulenhof. The unusual filly Wonder Girl 3 (Aganix du Seigneur x Chacoon Blue) changed hands for € 24,000. The foals were sold for an average price of € 17,375.

For the first time, some talented young sport horses were sold in Ommen. And not without success, because the four horses found a new home for an average price of € 71,250. The most expensive was Mister Rossi (Zapatero VDL x Douglas) for € 85,000. The beautiful stallion Luciano (Grand Slam VDL x Karandasj) went to a new address for € 80,000. Hendrik Jan Schuttert: “I am most satisfied with the fact that the horses go to top addresses. To good riders and amazons, there is a good chance that we will hear from them again!”

The chairman of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag Arjan van der Waaij was also very satisfied with the result: “It was a fantastic evening with excellent results. You can see that good foals with an interesting pedigree generate a lot of interest. It was a great collaboration with Hendrik Jan Schuttert, it certainly leaves you wanting more!”

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag launches spectacular collection for CSI Ommen

Scoop: talented sport horses from Schuttert in Prinsjesdag auction for the first time

With a spectacular collection of jumping foals and riding horses, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is aiming for a strong comeback at CSI Ommen after two years of absence due to the corona pandemic. This fantastic event of the Schuttert family has built up an enormous reputation and international recognition and Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is proud to be able to organize an auction for the third time at this three-star competition. This year, in addition to eight excellent jumping foals, there are also four extremely talented sport horses, carefully selected by co-organizer Hendrik-Jan Schuttert.

The Schuttert family and Foal Auction Prinsjesdag have had an excellent relationship for years and with this edition at CSI Ommen, the collaboration goes one step further. Hendrik-Jan Schuttert offers four very talented show jumpers in the auction on Saturday evening 9 July. In addition to the jumping horses, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has selected an exclusive collection of jumping foals.

The foal collection consists of eight interesting jumping foals descending from the best stallions from the leading tribes. Take for example Elton BN Z – a colt by Emerald from the famous lineage of Fair Light, Epleaser and Valentina van 't Heike. Or Waldemar van den Berg, a son of top talent Ermitage Kalone from the Van 't Roosakker family. Another eye-catcher is without a doubt Samoa W – son of Rolex Grand Prix winner Tobago Z out of the sister of Nixon van 't Meulenhof, Emerald, Ilusionata van 't Meulenhof and many more. The Aganix du Seigneur daughter Wonder Girl 3 Leien is also a breeder's dream; she is a filly from the famous line of Qerly Chin.

Four show jumpers were selected by Schuttert Sporthorses for the auction at CSI Ommen. Three talented five-year-olds and one very promising six-year-old complete the collection. The five-year-old Morrison OA (Apardi x Carrera VDL) was purchased as a foal by the Schuttert family at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag and has now developed into an extremely talented show jumper with impulsion, caution and reflexes. The five-year-old Diamant de Semilly daughter Marabel W is in turn a very modern showjumper with a lot of potential for the big sport; the Zapatero VDL son Mister Rossi is the most experienced five-year-old in the collection and stands out for his rideability, enormous scope and attitude. The six-year-old stallion Luciano is perhaps the most promising talent; this son of Grand Slam VDL has all the ingredients to become an international talent.

Exclusive jumping foals and jumping horses in Foal Auction Prinsjesdag at CSI Ommen

After two years of absence due to the corona pandemic, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is returning this year with an auction during CSI Ommen on Saturday 9 July. Nine excellent showjumping foals and a number of showjumpers selected by Schuttert Sporthorses will be auctioned at the Driehoekhoeve in Ommen. The auction collection will be online on 20 June and bidding can be done live and online on Saturday 9 July.

“Prinsjesdag Foal Auction and CSI Ommen are a good match and that has also been shown in previous editions”

says competition organizer Hendrik-Jan Schuttert. “CSI Ommen stands for top sport, but many of our customers are also present at the competition every year. Prinsjesdag provides a small group of very exclusive foals and we think that a number of high-quality show jumpers will also fit well with this. We go for quality over quantity; we want to add about three or four very talented riding horses to the auction”, Schuttert looks ahead.

The foals will arrive at CSI Ommen on Friday 8 July and will be presented to the public on Friday and Saturday. “This gives all those present plenty of time to view the foals and also to visit them in the stable. The riding horses can be tried by customers during CSI Ommen and interested parties can also make an appointment prior to CSI Ommen to test these show jumpers.”

19,000 euros for Emerald embryo from dam Sterrehof's Ushi

An Emerald embryo from the famous Qerly Chin line was sold to Portugal in the Embryo Auction of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. The half sister or brother of Sterrehof's Ushi was rejected in the online auction for 19,000 euros. Among the dressage embryos, the Total McLaren embryo out of the dam of the KWPN stallion Ladignac was the most popular; this embryo will go to the United States for 11,000 euros.

The strong breeding Barake de Muze is the dam of the highly interesting Emerald embryo. Granddam Narcotique de Muze II produced an unprecedented list of international show jumpers and approved stallions and is known as one of the best mares in the world. The Emerald x Goethe embryo leaves for Portugal and became the most expensive embryo sold for 19,000 euros.

The interesting Chacco Blue embryo from the line of Usha van 't Roosakker is going to a Belgian investor for 18,000 euros. A Dutch buyer captured the embryo of For Pleasure from Frank Schuttert's talented Justine W; for 14,000 euros, this cousin of G&C Arrayan stays in the Netherlands. The London embryo out of the half-sister of Olympic Valentina van 't Heike is going to Belgium.

German buyers were fanatical about the dressage embryos; for 10,000 euros the Desperados FRH x Ferro and the Glamourdale x Havidoff go to our eastern neighbours. An American investor bought the Total McLaren x Apache for 11,000 euros. Donnerhall I's straw was also well received and will remain in the Netherlands for 4,750 euros.

The live foal auction of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is scheduled for Tuesday 20 September. The dressage and jumping foals are auctioned at the Equestrian Center in Ermelo.

Tuesday evening as. you can become the proud owner of one or more embryos that have been selected for you with care and attention. We can rightly speak of a special collection. You can bid on the embryos from 8 pm tonight. The auction closes Tuesday evening from 8 p.m. Good to know, we don't want you to miss out on your future topper!

In addition to the 15 embryos, you also have the opportunity to buy two straws of frozen semen from foundation sires Donnerhall and Florestan I. These heroes have more than earned their spurs in the dressage world. Stallions that never go out of style and that many dressage enthusiasts would like to have a foal from next year!

Dressage collection

The selectors have succeeded in selecting the crème de la crème of embryos for you. An Indian Rock embryo out of the fantastic dam Endy O. We were also able to select several embryos from proven stallion dams, namely the dams of Ladignac, Ferdinand, High Five US and the full sister of Charmeur. Very exceptional! We were also able to obtain a Desperados FRH embryo with the perfect dressage blood build-up from Ferro x Rubinstein I x Donnerhall for our collection.

To jump

For the jumping enthusiast, the selection committee has been able to select a number of very interesting embryos from the best dam lines of the moment. We have embryos from the Roosakker and Querly Chin family and from the Valentina van 't Heike line in our collection. You can have these in your possession this Tuesday evening! Embryos by For Pleasure and Emerald respectively from the sisters of G & C Arrayan and CiCi Senjor Ask are up for auction. From Spruce Meadows winner Candy you have the opportunity to purchase a granddaughter or grandson whose sire is none other than Chacco Blue.

wild card

In the last week before the start of the auction, we were able to add one more embryo to the collection. The great talent Asgard's Ibiza is responsible for the fatherhood of this embryo. The Desperado son makes a big impression with his offspring and recently made his debut at Small Tour level. The dam of this embryo is the famous stallion dam Vurona (v. Negro x Vincent). Her sons High Five US (by Charmeur) and Blue Hors First Choice (by Jazz) make a good impression for Vurona. Blue Hors First Choice acts in addition to his breeding service at PSG/Inter I level. Four mares from Vurona compete at Z2 and ZZ Licht dressage. In addition to her breeding career, Vurona ran dressage at Z2 level, just like several of her brothers and sisters. Her half-brother Axel (by Sandreo) even made it to Grand Prix level.

A very interesting family, of which this embryo just might become the next success story!
