Five Prinsjesdag stallions to Den Bosch

The first viewing of the KWPN stallion selection resulted in an invitation to the KWPN Stallion Show for five Prinsjesdag horses. Sons of For Pleasure, Quickly de Kreisker, Gandhi, Florencio and Glock's Zonik will make an appearance in the second viewing.

During the first viewing in Ermelo, the For Pleasure son Leviathan (ds. Untouchable) of R. Blom showed himself to be a very talented horse. The stallion was bred by N. Smit and JJ Smit-de Goede and comes from a real sport line. The Quality Boy PB Z (Quickly de Kreisker x Baloubet du Rouet) owned by E. Schep and JJ van der Louw, bred by P. Bastiaansen, also made a strong impression. This interesting stallion is a half-brother of the recognized Grand Prix stallion Carrera VDL.

International transfer
Among the dressage stallions, the Zonik son LA Zonik (ds.Goodtimes, breeder AJ Lievaart from Wijckel) of DK Dressage Horses from Helvoirt earned an invitation for the second viewing. In Ermelo it was announced that this talent of Demy Kurstjens has now come into the hands of Andreas Helgstrand. Landal G (Ghandi x Rousseau), bred by MA de Groot, also made a good impression. More than two years after being auctioned in Ermelo, N. Donkers' stallion convinced again. The third dressage stallion with a ticket for the second selection round is the Leerava (Florencio x Negro), bred by the late C. van Etten, by CY Pellikaan. Breeders and owners good luck in Den Bosch!

In Ermelo, he and rider Marieke van der Putten once again convinced. With no less than 94 points, they also won this round of the stallion competition.

The dressage mares auctioned at Prinsjesdag also attracted attention this month.

Zwetcher (Sir Sinclair x Jetset-D) won the class with 74.069% under rider Kristin Biermann. Zoe Kuintjes finished in fourth place with Primeval Brittsion (Sir Donnerhal x Krack C) with 69.951%. Zwetcher was sold at the Foal Auction Prinsjesdag in 2004 and was previously ridden by Sheela van Bregt.

Success during Oldenburg stallion selection for well-known Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag can add another approved stallion to the list after last weekend. Loyal contributor Animal Embryo Center from Maria-Hoop entered Vuvuzala Z (Vagabond de la Pomme x Cambridge) at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag in 2016 and is now the proud owner of an approved stallion.

The Vagabond son comes from show jumping horse supplier Ocay. Vuvuzela Z combines the acclaimed maternal line of sire Vagabond de la Pomme with the well-known Holsteiner lineage 18a2. Vuvuzela's dam Ocay is a daughter of the foundation sire Cambridge and has already produced three international showjumpers. Vuvuzela's grandmother Icara II also produced several successful Grand Prix show jumpers, including Restless and Catija ET Z, and was the foundation of many other successful show jumpers.

We congratulate Animal Embryo Center, Vullers family with this great success!!

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag full of confidence towards 2019!

The board of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag looks back with full satisfaction on the 2018 edition. International buyers managed to find the auction again. It became clear in the jumping direction that quality and potential are paid for. The average of this evening was €14,338. The absolute top auction of 2018 turned out to be the excellent dressage foal Nouvelle Feniz Texel (by Glock's Toto Jr.) on September 12, who changed owners for €85,000.

Chairman Arjan van der Waaij about the last edition: “We have every reason to be positive. We auctioned well and the entire administrative process went smoothly.” The jumping auction went fantastic. New Usha van 't Studutch (by Cavalier Royale) yielded €52,000. Next Meta became the second most expensive foal. This extremely interesting mare by Cornet Obolensky is the full sister of the KWPN champion stallion Kannan Jr. and raised €44,000.

The second auction day was dominated by the dressage talents. Nouvelle Feniz Texel, bred by the van der Linde family, provided an exciting bidding duel. The Dantism family won for no less than € 85,000. Great prizes were also paid for Natural Spring SSS (by Totilas, €56,000) and Ninvasion (by Glock's Toto Jr., €32,000).

Stand during the KWPN Stallion Inspection

In February, the Prinsjesdag team will be present again with a stand during the upcoming KWPN stallion selection in Den Bosch. Van der Waaij: “Interested people can find us at our familiar spot on the main slope. Everyone is welcome for a chat and a cup of coffee. I therefore invite everyone to come along.” Breeders can register their (expected) foals online. This can also be done directly in the stand via the laptop.

Van der Waaij: “We will continue to select according to our motto 'the power of performance' and are confidently moving towards 2019.” Foal Auction Prinsjesdag will be back next year according to tradition on the third Tuesday of September. The jumping foals will be auctioned on September 17 and the dressage direction will be on September 18.

Double stroke for phenomenon Jameson RS2

With a 10 for the canter and a record score of 90 points, Jameson RS2, sold as an embryo at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, earned his breeding license with the KWPN. The unprecedented talent of this Blue Hors Zack son is controversial and has already earned him the championship title at the KWPN stallion selection and the victory in the Pavo Cup. In the performance test he once again left no doubt about his natural talent.

Stallion Competition

Barely two weeks after his approval, he immediately made an appearance in the KWPN Stallion Competition in Kronenberg and again he made an exceptional impression. Under Marieke van der Putten, the breeding product of Stal 104 won with a top score of 92 points. What a phenomenal Prinsjesdag reference, this stallion by RS2 Dressage!

Nouvelle Feniz Texel masterpiece of very successful Prinsjesdag auction

With a record price of € 85,000, the extreme movement talent Nouvelle Feniz Texel (by Glock's Toto Jr.) turned out to be the absolute auction topper of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. Good prices and a good average of € 12,500 were also achieved across the board. Just like yesterday with the jumping foals, there was a lot of interest from all over Europe for the strong collection of foals.

At the 26th edition of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, the movement talents turned out to be in great demand. Nouvelle Feniz Texel (Glock's Toto Jr. x Negro), bred by Willem van der Linde, resulted in an exciting bidding duel in which the Dantism family eventually won. Their ten-year-old daughter Aaliyah immediately fell for the extremely talented filly for which the hammer fell to €85,000. Excellent prizes were also won by Natural Spring SSS (by Totilas, € 56,000), Ninvasion (by Glock's Toto Jr., € 32,000) and Nox (by Fürst Romancier, € 30,000). “Last year we had a record-breaking auction for dressage foals, which set the bar extra high this year. We are very pleased that we have again been able to realize such a successful auction together, with almost the same average price. Very attractive prices have been won in both width and height, including an extreme outlier in terms of price and quality. Every round, Nouvelle Feniz Texel continued to attract great attention and the moment of the day is certainly decisive for dressage foals”, chairman Arjan van der Waaij looks back at the auction.

Great interest

Most of the foals have had new Dutch owners and future talents have also been sold to strong dressage countries such as Germany and Denmark. "There was a lot of interest in the foals from all over Europe, we noticed that in the preliminary phase. Both the VIP and the grandstand were packed, and that not only ensured good prices but also a lot of atmosphere." The online live bidding, which was introduced this year by Foal Auction Prinsjesdag in equestrian Netherlands, also proved to be of added value, just like yesterday. “As an organisation, we are pleased to have been able to live up to the high expectations again this year. It will be another great challenge to match this next year.”
