FINAL CHANCE! EMBRYO BY CHAMPION FÜRSTENBALL OUT OF TOP-CLASS SISTHER DE JEU

If you want to be certain of getting the best that dressage breeding has to offer, you should not miss your chance on this embryo. This Sunday is your last chance: at 20.00 (UTC +01:00, Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Rome, Stockholm) the first dressage-embryo at www.embryoauction.com will have a new owner.

Its dam Sisther de Jeu performed at the highest level in the international sport for many years under Edward Gal. After her glorious career, she has recently devoted herself to breeding. Sisther de Jeu is a daughter of the top-class sire Gribaldi out of the powerful dressage line bred by Huub and Tini van Helvoirt, who are the breeders of Jazz, for example. Her dam is the Amor daughter Esther, which also produced Thriller by Gribaldi and, like Sisther, also reached the highest level in the dressage sport. Perry (Jazz x Esther) reached Small Tour level.

The sire of this embryo is the magnificent Fürstenball, which is already considered a phenomenon in the sport and breeding. This stallion, with his striking elasticity and light-footedness, won all the champion's titles to be earned in Germany as a young horse; both in selections and under saddle. His breeding results are equally spectacular. He already produced champion stallions, champion mares, recently the numbers 1 and 2 at the elite selection in Rastede, in short, Fürstenball has no equal.

Sister herself developed an impressive sport career, in which she scored more than the following results:

2008: Flyinge, 1st in the Grand Prix, 2nd in the Special

2009: Den Bosch WC, 2nd in the Grand Prix, 3rd in the Special

NEWSLETTER FOALAUCTION PRINCESS DAY: THANK YOU, BREEDERS OF THE YEAR AND THE POWER OF PERFORMANCE

THANK YOU!
The board and the management of Prinsjesdag would like to thank all sellers and buyers for their confidence in the quality of Prinsjesdag Foal Auction. In addition, we would like to thank all sellers, buyers, selectors, partners, staff, volunteers and all other involved for their contribution to the success of the fantastic auction day. Without you, we couldn't have done it!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Prinsjesdag Foal Auction congratulates all the buyers with their foals acquired last week and wish them an undisturbed rearing period and a lot of sport and breeding success in the future.

PRINCESS DAY BREEDERS OF THE YEAR 2015
As is customary, the Breeders of the Year are honored every year on the third Tuesday of September. This year's title was awarded for the first time this year to a dressage foal and a showjumping foal breeder. The Temmink family from Vorden received the Dressage Horse Breeder's prize for having bred Boston STH who simply shone under Denise Nekeman, both at the NC and EC Young Riders. This impressive stallion was sold at the 2006 Prinsjesdag Auction and opened this year's dressage foal auction. The Prinsjesdag title for Showjumping Horse Breeder of the Year was awarded to the Van Loon family from Hooge Mierde. They had also presented a foal in 2006, namely Bonne Chance, the Baloubet daughter that won bronze at last summer's EC in Aachen under the Swiss Janika Sprunger and since wrote three Grand Prix to her name. Congratulated!

PRINCESS DAY AND THE POWER OF PERFORMANCE
The 2015 edition of Prinsjesdag Foal Auction has entered history as a very special one, where 39 dressage foals and 50 showjumping foals were knocked down by the new auctioneer Koen Olaerts. And again in a new layout, where the corner men were standing outside the ring and the breeders on the short side could watch their products being sold, and again all records were broken. Two years after Prinsjesdag saw the total sales rise abo0ve the 1 million euro for the first time, this year's auction generated the highest average sales price in the showjumping foals category, namely €14,530. And also the dressage foals fetched good money with an average sales price of €11,000.

However, the price is not a priority for Prinsjesdag. The price should be a reflection of the quality and in that respect Prinsjesdag wants to play a pioneering role. In 2003 we intentionally chose the Power of Performance to be our objective. Now, 12 years later, this motto of Prinsjesdag becomes more fitting than ever before. Breeding techniques and embryo transplantation and ICSI, as well as the super fast internationalization of breeding give the idea of performance breeding a new content. There are a lot of newcomers in the sales market of foals that are willing to pay a good price for top-class material. It is up to the European top-class breeders to meet this demand.

Another interesting development is the growing interest of the riders for foals. As it keeps getting harder to get hold of well trained young horses, riders are showing more interest in acquiring foals with a high expectation value.

The record breaking results of the last auction are not a random incident according to the organization of Prinsjesdag. The explicit focus on performance introduced 12 years ago was a significant sign. Since then further initiatives were taken for the flourish of this auction. For example, after several years of modest results on the dressage side, the quality standards of the dressage collection have risen sharply. This year's collection of dressage foals was considered very good by experts in the field. Another policy was to look further ahead than just the Netherlands. The offer in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Ireland, for example, is seriously looked into and assessed. And only when they are up to the quality standards of Prinsjesdag, will they be selected. In addition, Prinsjesdag does not want to be restricted to any studbook or breeding region; all the breeders who invest in top-class material are very welcome to show their products.

Prinsjesdag considers its relationship with the breeders to be curcial for the success of the auction: breeders have to sell their foals and Prinsjesdag needs foals for its auction. By co-operating, you can be more successful. Prinsjesdag deeply appreciates the loyalty of the breeders and is prepared to also invest in that relationship. That is why last year the breeders stands were upgraded so that the auction's sellers have a place for themselves during the auction.

In the years to come Prinsjesdag will continue its quest for quality, both for the foal auction on the third Tuesday of September and for the embryo's marketed online at www.embryoauction.com† Also in 2016 Prinsjesdag Foal Auction will take place on the third Tuesday of September, the 21st, at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo. Anyone who already wants to enter any foals (expected in 2016) can download their entry form via the website www.prinsjesdag.eu.

We also thank all entrants, buyers, selectors, partners, employees, volunteers and everyone else involved for everyone's contribution to the success of the fantastic auction day. Foal Auction Prinsjesdag congratulates all buyers with their foals acquired last week and wishes everyone a successful rearing and sporting and breeding success in the future.

PRINCESS DAY BREEDERS OF THE YEAR 2015
As usual, the Prinsjesdag Breeders of the Year are honored on the third Tuesday of September every year. This year, for the first time, that title was awarded to a dressage breeder and a show jumping breeder. The Temmink family from Vorden was awarded the prize for breeding Boston STH who shone under Denise Nekeman at both the Dutch National Championships and European Championships for Young Riders. The impressive stallion was sold during Prinsjesdag in 2006 and this year opened the dressage auction in the afternoon. The jumping title of Prinsjesdag Breeder of the Year went to the Van Loon family from Hooge Mierde. They also brought in a foal in 2006, Bonne Chance, the Baloubet mare who won bronze at the European Championships in Aachen last summer with the Swiss Janika Sprunger and who won three Grand Prix. Congratulations!

PRINCESS DAY AND THE POWER OF PERFORMANCE
Foal Auction Prinsjesdag 2015 will go down in history as a special edition. 39 dressage foals and 50 jumping foals were auctioned by the new auctioneer Koen Olaerts. All records were broken with another new set-up, with the corner men standing outside the ring and the breeders on the short side able to follow the sales of their products. Two years after Prinsjesdag saw the total turnover rise above 1 million euros for the first time, the auction recorded the highest average sales proceeds for the jumping foals this year, namely € 14,530. And the dressage foals also fetched a good price on average with € 11,000.

However, the price in itself is not an end in itself for Prinsjesdag. The price should be a reflection of the quality. And in that respect, Prinsjesdag would like to play a pioneering role. In 2003 a conscious choice was made for The Power of Performance. Now 12 years later, that motto of Prinsjesdag is more applicable than ever before. Breeding techniques such as embryo transfer and ICSI, and the rapid internationalization of breeding, give new meaning to the concept of performance breeding. There are many new entrants to the foal buyer's market who are willing to pay a good price for top material. It is up to Europe's top breeders to meet this demand.

Another interesting development is the increased interest of riders in foals. The more difficult it becomes to find well-trained young horses, the more riders seem to be interested in high-expectation foals.

Last week's top auction is not a one-off incident for the organization of Prinsjesdag. The explicit choice for achievement 12 years ago has been a very clear one. But even after that, there have been numerous initiatives to allow the auction to grow further. For example, after a few lean dressage years, an explicit choice was made to increase the quality of the dressage collection. This year there was a collection of dressage foals that were described as very good by the experts. It is also a conscious choice to look further than the Netherlands is large. Offers in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Ireland, for example, are being viewed and assessed. And if it fits in with the quality standards of Prinsjesdag, selected. Also, as far as Prinsjesdag is concerned, there are no restrictions in terms of studbook or breeding area: breeders who invest in top material are always welcome with their products.

Furthermore, Prinsjesdag considers the relationship with breeders to be decisive for the success of the auction: breeders still have sales for their foals, and Prinsjesdag needs foals to be auctioned. If you work together you can be successful. Prinsjesdag needs the loyalty of breeders, and is also willing to invest in that relationship. For example, last year it was decided to build the breeders' stand where the entrants have their own place during the auction.

For the coming years, Prinsjesdag will continue the pursuit of quality. For the foal auction on the third Tuesday of September and of course to market embryos online via www.embryoauction.com† In 2016 Foal Auction Prinsjesdag will take place on Tuesday 21 September in the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo. If you already want to register your foal(s) (expected in 2016), you can download a registration form via the website www.prinsjesdag.eu.

91 sports foals to Foal Auction Prinsjesdag Tuesday

With about four days to go, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is preparing for the annual elite auction that uses 'The Power of Performance' as the starting point for its selection procedure. A unique collection of foals will be presented in Ermelo on Prinsjesdag, where performance in the direct dam's line is the rule rather than the exception. In addition, the sires are also of exceptional quality. The top five of the WBFSH jumping ranking, Kannan, Cornet Obolensky, Diamant de Semilly, Baloubet du Rouet and For Pleasure, are strongly represented.

No fewer than 22 jumping foals are directly linked to the top 5 of the best breeding stallions. Combine that with the quality and amount of performance in the dam lines and the chance of a future topper is high. The absolute number 1 of the ranking, Kannan, is represented by two direct descendants, but also a grandson with number 2, Cornet Obolensky as sire.

The influence of Heartbreaker and his son Toulon in this collection is also worth mentioning, because no fewer than seventeen foals are direct or indirect descendants of them. One of these is the national champion filly, Korinchidee (by Etoulon VDL) from breeder Dirk Noordhuis.

The videos of the auction foals have already been widely viewed on YouTube and a lot of interest has already been shown online for dressage foals such as Koh-I-Noor (by Johnson), Kasimoglu (by De Niro), Kingston (Fürstenball), Kassion (by. Sir Donnerhall), Kiss of Rose (by De Niro), Kaiser de Niro (by De Niro), Krime-Time (by Bordeaux), Katosion (by Glock's Toto Jr) and Kayne (by Governor). Popular showjumping foals include King Capital B (by Numero Uno), Levita (by Levisto Z), Caesar (by Cornet Obolensky), Kishaniki (by Latour) and Katascha CB (by Kannan).

The 40 dressage and 51 jumping foals will be auctioned next Tuesday, September 15 in Ermelo. The first presentation is at 12:30 PM. For more information: www.prinsjesdag.eu. The auction can be followed via the ClipMyHorse.tv livestream.

Prinsjesdag auctions jumping champion and dressage topper

ERMELO – The fact that Prinsjesdag not only auctions interestingly bred foals, but also excellently built and moving foals has once again been confirmed at the National Foal Inspection in Ermelo. The champion foal in the jumping foals Korinchide DN (Etoulon VDL x Chin Chin) will be auctioned on September 15 on Prinsjesdag and also the number four in the dressage foals Whopper DDH (Glamourdale x De Niro) is up for auction.

Korinchidee DN was bred by Derk Noordhuis from Wijster and impressed the KWPN jury with her model and fantastic way of cantering. Korinchidee's sire Etoulon is an exceptionally talented son of Toulon and Korinchidee is already the third Etoulon offspring in a row to be crowned National Foal Champion. Korinchidee's dam Chinchidee became national champion as a three-year-old jumping mares and was also national champion as a foal.

With the dressage foals, Kanjer DDH (Glamourdale x De Niro) owned by Jan van de Kamp van De Havikerwaard competed for the championship title until the last. In the end, the Glamourdale son achieved a wonderful fourth place in the championship selection of the National Foal Inspection. Kanjer DDH previously became champion of the dressage foals at the Central Keuring of Gelderland.

The very interestingly bred Kanjer DDH is closely related to top stallions such as Sandro Hit and Diamond Hit. Granddam La Traviata is the full sister of foundation stallion Sandro Hit. With dressage progenitor De Niro as grandfather and the talented young stallion Glamourdale as sire, Kanjer DDH's pedigree is complete.

Not foals with only excellent pedigrees, but also with excellent types and movements will be auctioned at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. The filly Korinchide DN (Etoulon VDL x Chin Chin) just became Dutch Champion of show jumping foals at the National Foal Show and the colt Whopper DDH (Glamourdale x De Niro) became fourth of the dressage foals. Both foals will be auctioned at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag the 15th of September!

Korinchidee DN was bred by Derk Noordhuis and impressed the KWPN-judges with her beautiful conformation and excellent canter and gallop. Her sire Etoulon VDL is an extremely talented son of Toulon and already produced his third National Foal Champion in a row! Dam Chinchidee became national champion herself as a foal and as a three year old.

Kanjer DDH (Glamourdale x De Niro) was bred by Jan van de Kamp of De Havikerwaard and ended up fourth in the champions ring of the dressage foals. This beautiful colt was already crowned champion of the Central Foal Show of Gelderland. Kanjer DDH is a grandson of the mare La Traviata – the full sister of the legendary Sandro Hit and half-sister of Diamond Hit. With the talented Glamourdale as a sire and the world-famous De Niro as a grandsire the pedigree of Kanjer DDH is more than complete.

You can buy champions at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag

Looking for a champion in the future? Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has already been able to auction many of these and shared in the joy of Dutch Young Riders champion, Denise Nekeman (photo) last Sunday. Her nine-year-old Boston STH (Johnson x Quattro, breeder JW Temmink from Vorden), sold through Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, danced with force majeure through the arena in Ermelo and was unbeatable with 76,70%.

This year, the selection committee again selected potential dressage champions, including two half-brothers from Boston STH. Father Glock's Johnson TN won silver at the National Championships for seniors on Sunday with 82,13% in the freestyle to music and secured a team spot at the European Championship with Hans Peter Minderhoud. Last year, the imposing Jazz son was already part of the golden team at the World Equestrian Games in Caen.

The Johnson sons up for auction come from Vertu Heroique (Gribaldi) and First Lady (Negro). The elite mare Vertu Heroique, a half sister of the NRPS-approved stallion Suarez (Sandreo), is the champion of dressage mares at the Central Inspection of Overijssel in 2005. First Lady is a five-year-old elite mare out of the Z2 dressage horse Adelaide (Tuschinski), who is known as a half sister of the Grand Prix dressage horse Lester (Triton) of the Finnish Pia Verjonen. Her grandmother Fantasie (Ramiro Z) competed at Z1-level dressage and is a half-sister of the Small Tour dressage horse Doreen (Ulster).

Brother of Erludine DVB
A direct son of Jazz is being auctioned, bred out of the elite mare Zarludine (Ferro x Rubinstein). It is a full brother of the very talented NMK mare Erludine DVB, who scored 86 points for her IBOP and last year won two Subli Cup preselections with 88 and 88.4 points and finished sixth in the Pavo Cup. Zarludine also produced the five-year-old dressage talent and VSN finalist Four Seasons (Vivaldi). In addition, four foals were selected that were bred out of a Jazz daughter.

Four of Negro
We often come across the blood of the Olympic stallion Ferro in the collection, if only through the four colts of his son Negro. One of them was bred out of the well-known Zhara Obertje (Jazz), champion of the National Mare Inspection in 2007. This full sister of the Grand Prix dressage stallion Tango has meanwhile been classified Prix St.Georges. Also interesting is the Negro out of Glamour-Esther SVN (Totilas), who scored 80/80 at the studbook inspection and took fifth place at the CK. Glamor-Esther SVN, bred out of the line of the Grand Prix mare Sisther de Jeu, is a half sister of four Small Tour and two Z1 horses.

Negro is also registered twice as a mother's father. With a Johnson foal mentioned earlier and with a filly by Lord Leatherdale out of the ster preferent Urona (Negro). This Urona already produced an international junior horse: Corona (Tuschinski) ridden by the Belgian Kate Wiggins.

Five by De Niro
Prinsjesdag is auctioning no fewer than five offspring of the German champion stallion De Niro. The stallion of De Niro out of Jazz mare Tsarina B is interesting. She is a half sister of Grand Prix dressage mare Reine B out of a dam line that is also steeped in dressage. Also attractively bred are the two products from the dam line of the Grand Prix dressage mare Nadine and the approved Dorado: Coosje van Johnson is responsible for the only daughter of De Niro, Gerard Vervoorn brings in a stallion out of Bertolonia van Santano.

Also not unmentioned should be the product of Pegasus Stables. This mare by Don Schufro is a dream for every dressage breeder and rider. Dam Borendy of Painted Black is a direct family of top dressage horses and approved stallions Zuidenwind, Zhivago and Charmeur.

Boston STH and Denise Nekeman convincing Dutch champion

ERMELO - Boston STH and Denise Nekeman proved their class last weekend by becoming Dutch champions among the young riders. The nine-year-old Johnson son showed his enormous potential again and Denise Nekeman showed her top talent. Boston STH was bought as a foal by the Nekeman family at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag 2006.

After Boston STH and Denise Nekeman had already won the first Dutch National Championships component, the Freestyle to Music was convincingly won by the breeding product of JW Temmink from Vorden. With a whopping 76,60% – and almost 4% ahead of the number two – the Johnson son earned the championship title. “What a great weekend! I am so very proud of the one and only Big Boss! What a cannon it is”, Denise Nekeman sounded extremely enthusiastic afterwards. “We ended our last year with the young riders with a blast! Now Boston will get a few days of vacation and then we will practice hard for the U25.”

Prinsjesdag congratulates rider Denise Nekeman, her parents and owners of Boston STH Mr. and Mrs. Nekeman and breeder JW Temmink with this great success!
