References stand out in sports
Every year, interesting foals with a lot of potential for sport and breeding form the collections of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. Over the years this has resulted in an impressive list of references and horses such as Baron, Cresswell LVP Z and Jameson RS2 are currently eye-catching with their sporting successes.
At the beginning of this month, the KWPN-approved stallion Jameson RS2 (Blue Hors Zack x Negro, breeder Stal 104 from Wijdewormer) fulfilled his favorite role by winning the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition during the KWPN Stallion Show. Under Marieke van der Putten, this Prinsjesdag reference once again proved to be unbeatable. With 91 points, including another 10 for his dream canter, he won both the final and the entire competition class L.
Grand Prize Winner
On 17 February, the Prinsjesdag reference Baron (Colman x Numero Uno, breeder Stoeterij 't Heemskind from Deurne) delivered a top performance with Roberto Turchetto winning the 1.50m Grand Prix of CSI3* Vilamoura. The duo was the only one to stay clear in both the basic course and the jump-off and with that they earned the top prize during the first week of the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour in Portugal.
International wins
The seven-year-old Cresswell LVP Z (Casall x Quantum, breeder Luc van Puymbroek – LVP Stables) already achieved international victories this month. Under his rider Kelly Vandousselaere, with whom he has been in a combination since the beginning of this year, he won both a 1.30m and a 1.35m class for young horses at CSI2* Oliva. This competition is part of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour and this is where the new-fangled duo gain valuable experience. They also achieved success at 1.40m level, thanks to a double clear result, the just seven-year-old gelding jumped to fifth place. We will continue to follow them!
