Sports and breeding; a nice combination
Successful Prinsjesdag auction during CSI Ommen
A fresh, beautiful summer evening during CSI Ommen was the setting for a successful auction of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. Eight foals and four sport horses, selected by Hendrik Jan Schuttert, were auctioned by auctioneer Koen Olaerts. With a well-filled VIP grandstand and a lot of public interest, both the foals and the horses went over the board like hot cakes.
The most expensive foal was the interestingly bred Samoa W (Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z x Denzel van 't Meulenhof), for € 32,000 he found a new owner in Jan Bakker from Zwolle. The big, strong colt comes from a full sister of the great talent of Jos Verlooy; Nixon van't Meulenhof. The unusual filly Wonder Girl 3 (Aganix du Seigneur x Chacoon Blue) changed hands for € 24,000. The foals were sold for an average price of € 17,375.
For the first time, some talented young sport horses were sold in Ommen. And not without success, because the four horses found a new home for an average price of € 71,250. The most expensive was Mister Rossi (Zapatero VDL x Douglas) for € 85,000. The beautiful stallion Luciano (Grand Slam VDL x Karandasj) went to a new address for € 80,000. Hendrik Jan Schuttert: “I am most satisfied with the fact that the horses go to top addresses. To good riders and amazons, there is a good chance that we will hear from them again!”
The chairman of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag Arjan van der Waaij was also very satisfied with the result: “It was a fantastic evening with excellent results. You can see that good foals with an interesting pedigree generate a lot of interest. It was a great collaboration with Hendrik Jan Schuttert, it certainly leaves you wanting more!”
