Glamor Girl
Just like last year, the page is decorated by one of our references in Christmas atmospheres.
This year we chose Glamor Girl who, together with top rider Henrik von Eckermann, achieved some beautiful victories. At the beginning of this year they won a 1.55m class in Dinard, followed by a very spectacular 1.50m in Rome during the GCT. Glamor Girl can also compete at the highest level, at the end of November she won the 4* GP in Stockholm.
Von Eckermann: “I've been driving her for a year and a half now and we brought her in with the idea that she can act at the highest level. We want to take her slowly, step by step, to that level. She is unbelievably fast but her greatest quality is her fighting spirit, which is extraordinary.” The 10-year-old mare is not the easiest, Hendrik: “She has her instructions for use. If she is calm and everything around her is calm, there is nothing to worry about. But when she gets excited she sometimes wants to run, when you sit on her you don't really have the idea that she can be stopped!"
Glamor Girl was bred by Stoeterij Gaesbeek in Ruinen. She combined the 1.60m jumping Zirocco Blue VDL with the mare Moonlight II ridden by Caletto I. A mare who already produced several fine showjumpers such as the 1.60m jumping Duke and the 1.40m horse Miss Marome. Fred van Straaten selected Glamor Girl for the auction at the time: “It was not a very striking foal, but she was well put together and correctly built. What I can remember well was her ability to shift gears and she was already incredibly fast back then.”
We are curious what successes we can expect from Glamor Girl, the future looks bright. Henrik and the team of the Cyor Stables thank you for your cooperation in putting this fantastic mare in the spotlight as a reference.
